For our friends and family travelling from the Gold Coast, the easiest way to reach Wollombi in the Hunter Valley is by flying into either Sydney or Newcastle.

Via Sydney
Fly from the Gold Coast to Sydney Airport, then hire a car and enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 2.5–3 hours to Wollombi.

Via Newcastle
Alternatively, you can fly into Newcastle Airport, the closest airport to the Hunter Valley. From there, it is approximately a 1–1.5 hour drive to Wollombi.

We highly recommend hiring a car regardless of which airport you choose, as transport options within the Hunter Valley are limited and having your own vehicle will make exploring the region across the weekend much easier.
